Jomonds Jewellers was established in 1979 in a small, remote community in Far North Queensland, Australia. The name "Jomonds" is a heartfelt combination of the founders' names, Josephine and Raymond Bacchiella.

Coming from an artistic and creative Italian family, Josephine and Raymond carried a deep appreciation for fine craftsmanship and timeless design. With strong Catholic Christian faith at their core, they built Jomonds on the values of integrity, hope, and love—believing that jewellery is more than just adornment; it is a reflection of faith, devotion, and life’s most treasured moments.

With three young daughters, Josephine was inspired to bring high-quality jewellery to Australia, drawing from the beauty of her Italian heritage. Their passion for gemstones and meaningful craftsmanship was passed down through generations. Their granddaughter grew up immersed in the jewellery world, spending her childhood in the family shop, often playing in the back storeroom while learning the trade.

Today, her granddaughter and partner continue the legacy of Jomonds Jewellers, honouring its faith-driven beginnings.
